Pay Scale and Allowances

Selected candidates will be placed in Level-2 of the Pay Matrix as per the 7th Central Pay Commission.

  • Pay Scale: Rs. 19,900 to Rs. 63,200

In addition to the basic pay, candidates will be entitled to various allowances and benefits, including Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance or free accommodation, Transport Allowance, and Leave Travel Concession.

The selected candidates will also be covered under the National Pension System.


Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

As on April 28, 2026, candidates must meet the following age criteria:

  • Minimum age: 18 years
  • Maximum age: 23 years

Age relaxation is applicable as per Government rules:

  • Scheduled Caste candidates: 5 years relaxation
  • Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years relaxation
  • Ex-Servicemen: As per Government norms

Educational Qualification

Candidates must fulfill both academic and professional requirements:

  • Must have passed Matriculation (10th Class) or equivalent from a recognized board
  • Must qualify in the Trade Test relevant to the applied post

Physical Standards

Candidates are required to meet the prescribed physical standards:

  • Height: 170 cm (relaxation applicable for reserved categories and specific regions)
  • Chest: 80 cm (unexpanded) with a minimum expansion of 5 cm (85 cm)
  • Weight: Proportionate to height and age as per medical standards

Selection Process

The selection procedure consists of four stages:

Phase I: Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST)

Candidates must qualify the following physical tests:

  • 1.6 km race to be completed within 7 minutes 30 seconds
  • Long jump of 11 feet (three attempts allowed)
  • High jump of 3.5 feet (three attempts allowed)

Phase II: Written Examination

The written examination will carry 50 marks and will consist of objective-type multiple-choice questions. The subjects included are:

  • General Awareness
  • Elementary Mathematics
  • Analytical Aptitude
  • English or Hindi

Minimum qualifying marks are:

  • 18 marks for General and Ex-Servicemen candidates
  • 17 marks for SC and OBC candidates

Phase III: Trade Test

The trade test will also carry 50 marks and will assess practical skills related to the post:

  • For Barber: Hair cutting, shaving, and related services
  • For Washerman: Washing, drying, and ironing

Candidates must secure a minimum of 50 percent marks to qualify.


Phase IV: Documentation and Medical Examination

Candidates who qualify the previous stages will be called for document verification followed by a detailed medical examination.

  • General and OBC male candidates are required to pay an application fee of Rs. 100
  • Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Ex-Servicemen categories are exempted from payment of the fee
