FSSAI Group A & C Deputation Recruitment 2026 Notification Released for 15 Posts
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has released the Deputation Recruitment Circular (DEP-02/2026) inviting applications from eligible officers for various Group A and Group C posts on a deputation basis, including short-term contract appointments. Note: Selection will be made through deputation/short-term contract and no written examination is scheduled.
5. Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
Candidates must be officers of Central Government, State Governments, Union Territories, Universities, Research Institutions, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), or Autonomous Organizations holding analogous posts on a regular basis or possessing the prescribed years of service in relevant pay levels.
Post-wise Qualification
- Joint Director: Candidates should possess any one of the following:
- Bachelor's Degree from a recognized University/Institution (MBA desirable); or
- Full-time Degree in Law; or
- Master's Degree/Post Graduate Diploma in Food Technology, Food Science, Dairy Technology, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Agriculture, Veterinary Sciences, Public Health, Nutrition, or related disciplines; or
- B.E./B.Tech in Food Technology, Biotechnology, or allied fields; or
- Doctorate Degree in a relevant subject with published research work.
- Manager (IT):
- B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science or related Engineering discipline; or
- Master of Computer Applications (MCA); or
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant Information Technology discipline.
- Junior Assistant Grade-II:
- Passed 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board/University.
- Experience in diary, dispatch work, and computer typing operations.
Age Limit
The maximum age limit for appointment on deputation shall be 56 years as on 26 June 2026, i.e., the last date for submission of online applications.
6. Application Fee
No application fee has been prescribed in the official recruitment notification.
7. Selection Process
Selection will be made through Deputation (Including Short-Term Contract) on Foreign Service terms. The appointment period shall initially be:
- One year
- Two years
- Three years
depending upon the post and organizational requirement. The tenure may be extended further based on:
- Performance appraisal of the deputationist
- Administrative requirements
- Approval of the parent department

Important: Officials from organizations following the Industrial Dearness Allowance (IDA) pay structure should refer to the IDA-CDA equivalency table provided in Annexure-II of the notification to determine eligibility.

9. How to Apply
Eligible candidates should follow the steps below:
- Step 1: Visit the official FSSAI website and access the 'jobs@fssai (careers)' section.
- Step 2: Complete and submit the online application form within the prescribed deadline.
- Step 3: After online submission, take a printout of the final application form.
- Step 4: Get the application countersigned by the Employer/Cadre Controlling Authority.
- Step 5: Submit the countersigned hard copy along with all supporting documents through the proper channel before the due date.
Important Note: Applicants who had already applied for the posts of Joint Director and Manager (IT) under Deputation Notice No. DEP-01/2025 are not required to submit a fresh online application. However, they must ensure that all required documents and hard copies have been forwarded through the proper channel.

- Certified copies of APARs/ACRs for the last five years
- No Objection Certificate (NOC)
- Integrity Certificate
- Vigilance Clearance Certificate
- Statement of Major/Minor Penalties imposed during the last ten years, if any
- Any other supporting documents required under the notification
