The Land Ports Authority of India (LPAI) under the Ministry of Home Affairs has released a major recruitment notification for filling 63 posts on deputation (Foreign Service) and short-term contract basis for its headquarters in New Delhi and Integrated Check Posts (ICPs) across India.
The vacancies are open to eligible officers from the Central Government, State Governments, Union Territories, Statutory Bodies and Autonomous Bodies. Applications must reach the authority on or before 07 August 2026.
About LPAI
Land Ports Authority of India was established under the LPAI Act, 2010 for the development, management and regulation of India's Integrated Check Posts (ICPs) situated along international land borders. The Authority manages strategic border infrastructure that facilitates trade, immigration, customs clearance and cross-border movement of passengers and goods.

Job Profile
Vigilance Officer
- Handling vigilance investigations and disciplinary matters
- Monitoring anti-corruption measures and compliance
- Coordination with vigilance agencies
Under Secretary
- Policy implementation and administration
- HR, finance, legal and communication matters
- Coordination with Ministries and border agencies
Assistant Engineer and Junior Engineer
- Supervision of civil and electrical infrastructure projects
- Monitoring construction activities at ICPs
- Maintenance of border infrastructure assets
Private Secretary and Personal Assistant
- Secretarial support to senior officers
- Meeting coordination and correspondence
- Office management and communication
Chief Port Administrator and Port Administrator
- Overall management of Integrated Check Posts
- Coordination with Customs, Immigration, BSF and other agencies
- Border trade facilitation and operational supervision
Port Executive
- Passenger facilitation and logistics management
- Coordination of transport, warehousing and operational activities
- Support in security and trade operations at ICPs
Eligibility Criteria
- Maximum age limit is 56 years
- Candidates should be holding analogous posts or possess the prescribed regular service in feeder grades
- Experience requirements vary from 2 to 5 years depending upon the post
- Retired officers below 65 years may also be considered for short-term contract appointments where suitable deputation candidates are unavailable

Selected officers may be posted at any LPAI Integrated Check Post including:
- Attari, Petrapole, Raxaul, Agartala, Dawki, Moreh
- Jogbani, Darranga, Mankachar, Rupaidiha, Sabroom, Suturkandi
- Dera Baba Nanak, Srimantpur, Golakganj
- Upcoming ICPs including Sonauli and Bhitthamore
Deputation Period and Benefits
- Port Executive posts will initially be filled for 3 years
- Remaining posts will normally be filled for 5 years
- Deputation conditions shall be governed by DoPT guidelines
- Eligible officers may receive Deputation (Duty) Allowance as per Government rules
